I have been teaching English as a foreign language, online and face to face, for over 9 years. I have worked in different countries in Europe, Africa and Latin America and have taught all different levels and ages and I have helped students from all over the world improve their English. I have taught general English, business English and English for Academic Purposes, and I have also helped students prepare for different exams, such as IELTS, FCE, CAE, TOEFL and others. In my opinion, learning a language is about communicating, so I try to get my students using and producing English as soon as possible. I also think it’s very important to have a personal connection with the content, and I try to give students every opportunity to express themselves and use what they are learning to express how they feel. However, I also realize that everyone has different reasons for learning a language, and is motivated by different things. As a result, I always try to focus on what the student wants, and I enjoy being creative and flexible to help them achieve what they need. I’m originally from Wales the UK, but have lived in different countries and I love seeing new places and learning about new cultures and people. When I’m not teaching, I enjoy reading books, watching films and TV series and meeting friends. I also enjoy learning languages and watching football when I can. More than anything though, I am passionate about music, listening and playing and I enjoy playing guitar and singing, even if other people don’t like it so much! Outside of language learning, I also have a degree in History and Politics and I still have an interest in these subjects as well.
